The American Harp Society, Inc. Young Composers Project is a biennial national educational program for harpists ages 25 and under. This project provides an opportunity for young harpists to broaden their relationship with their instrument by composing an original harp score and performing their composition at the 13th Summer Institute at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

2019 Distinguished young Composers Project Faculty
Apply To BeCOME A Featured Composer
The Young Composers Project committee will select up to 8 applicants to become featured composers. Applicants do not have to be formally studying composition to be eligible. The selected featured composers will be categorized by their age as of June 1, 2019:
Junior - Age 12 and Under
Teen I - Age 13-15
Teen II - Age 16-18
Young Adult - Ages 19-25
All applicants will receive written personal feedback about their composition from professional composers and be invited to attend the Institute.
